Each week we open our doors to provide a non judgmental space dedicated to supporting the new parent experience and providing support for properly nourishing your babies.
Join other new parents and a facilitating IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) in a group setting to get advice and tips for a successful and encouraged breastfeeding journey. Share your experience and make meaningful connections. Discussion topics include latch, positioning, milk supply, engorgement, nipple pain, formula supplementation, and more. Seeking support in the early days of breastfeeding is an important step if you or your baby are encountering difficulties. We welcome breastfeeding babies of any age.
An infant scale is available for weighted feedings.
Group is led by Jennifer Merritt. Jennifer has been a Mother Baby RN for over a decade and has earned several credentials in that time, including Maternal Newborn Nursing Registered Nurse Clinician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Jennifer has a variety of experience with mothers and babies. She started her career in NYC working with postpartum moms and babies. A while later she moved on and started a lactation program in the quaint town of Lake Geneva, WI along with her own practice, Nurse Jennifer (nursejennifer.com). Most recently she worked as an assistant nurse manager of a Mother Baby unit in Tampa, FL before joining us here in Philadelphia last month. Jennifer’s has her own breastfeeding journey with her adorable baby who will be joining her to help facilitate the breastfeeding support group.
We look forward to conversation, sharing experiences and building trust to have a safe place to vent feelings and build bonds with others on their breastfeeding journey.
