First Friday 7/7
Join us for an evening of refreshments and art as we reveal our latest in-store wall mural by artist Martha Rich! Martha is a Philly local whose work has been in music videos, advertising, magazines, book covers and more. She shows her paintings in galleries across the country and internationally. Martha will also have individual paintings on view and for sale in our exhibition space.
Raising Awareness for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)
A percentage of proceeds that evening (art sales and store merchandise), will go to Cure SMA, a cause that has recently become near and dear to our hearts and the Fishtown community after learning of the loss of a very special little boy named William in our neighborhood. Funds will be donated in his name.
About SMA
Children with healthy parents can be diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), often undetected until preschool, when movement disabilities may begin to appear, taking parents by surprise. In its most severe form, happy and alert infants with SMA require assistance with breathing and eating, and require 24-hour care, sometimes losing the SMA battle within their first two years. But there is hope--a new FDA-approved drug has yielded positive results called Spinraza (nusinersen). Families need access, research must continue, and your support for Cure SMA adds momentum to that mission.
Visit www.curesma.org to learn more about the disease and to consider additional support.
Special Thanks!
Delicious treats that evening will generously be provided by Cake Life Bake Shop!
